Kory was my son’s baseball instructor off and on for several years. I have also seen him coach at the professional level. We had a fantastic experience working with Kory.  He is patient and understanding. At the same time, Kory also has high expectations and knows how to motivate ball players.  Kory is extremely knowledgeable about baseball and coaching. As a psychologist, I feel that I have an understanding of the type of mentor/coach who can get others to work hard and reach their goals while having a great time doing both.  Kory is definitely that type of person. You cannot go wrong learning all aspects of baseball from Kory. He is a true professional, but an even better human being.

Hey Kory, I just wanted to thank you again for a great week!  Thank you and your family for opening your house to me just like that.  It truly meant the world to me and it meant more to be with such nice and caring people.  Thank you for sharing your knowledge of baseball with me and helping me better myself for years to come.  It means a lot to be able to work with an athlete like you.  I think my swing has really come along since Monday and I will continue to work on my defense as I feel that is one of my strengths.  Thank you so much again.  You all are like family to me now.  I will never forget this unbelievable experience and I will take everything I learned from you from baseball, to being a great father, and to being an all around great person with me where ever the road may take me.  God Bless!

We were introduced to Kory years back when my son Brandon was only about 9 years old, Kory was a substitute instructor for a baseball clinic.  From the very first time Brandon met Kory they both interacted well together. Now fast forward to late 2011 I was researching on line for additional baseball instruction in our Chandler, AZ area and stumbled across Kory’s advertisement offering baseball lessons. We immediately reconnected with him, and scheduled out weekly sessions mainly focusing on hitting and outfield instruction. The ability to schedule our sessions to our schedule was a real plus, and this became routine until Kory left to join the Pittsburgh Pirates organization in Florida in Spring 2012.  Kory’s ability to breakdown the swing to the basic fundamentals and teach good mechanics, was essential to achieving results from Brandon. When working on hitting he would watch Brandon and in a few swings pick out the flaws and make simple adjustments. Emphasizing the importance of incorporating tee work in every batters daily workouts/routines, referencing to such great hitters like Tony Gwynn (whom he got to play with when Kory was with the San Diego Padres) who used a tee extensively during his big league career.  Kory has taught Brandon solid baseball fundamentals like waiting for the ball in his zone instead of lunging at pitches out of his zone. Acting out situational scenarios based on the pitch count (as Kory was being the pitcher) were extremely helpful in helping him anticipate what type of pitch might be coming as well as the location of the pitch proved to be invaluable.  From the very first time we met Kory, his qualifications were obviously black and white, after all he had made it to the major leagues. However his ability to demonstrate and communicate effectively with my son Brandon and have him translate this into results that can be seen when he is playing, is as they say priceless.  If Kory hadn’t re-located to Florida we would have continued to incorporate him into our sons’ baseball plans.
I recommend any player looking to improve their hitting skills as well as fielding skills to check out Kory’s instruction; additionally what you will get is also his passion for baseball and his joyful smile.  I don’t think Kory has ever had a bad day; if he has you would never know it!
